Welcome to Whiskey Wednesdays!

Welcome to Whiskey Wednesdays!

Dalmations and Fire stations.    Saint Bernards and snowy slopes of the Alps.  German Shepards and K-9 Police units.   For as long as we can remember we have associated dogs with certain professions.   They hold a special place among the colleagues they “work” with.    There are countless calendars and hashtags out there highlighting the #dogsofturf and their superintendent counter parts.  This is no different in the field of Golf Course Maintenance.  And it is no different here at Kilmarlic.

Whiskey Evan of Currituck is his registered name, but Whiskey is what he answers to (most of the time).   Whiskey is a part-time family dog, part-time duck hunter, and full-time golf course dog.   We welcomed him into the Culclasure household on the 49th day of his life in June 2015 and on the 50th day he began his daily routine of coming to the course with “dad”.     He can regularly be seen riding in the cart while I’m performing course checks, splashing in the ponds (much to the dismay of mom!), and running down the fairways on my evening cart rides.    He makes those long summer days a little easier for the crew and I, and as any dog lover knows, he holds a special place in the Kilmarlic family.  Join us every Wednesday as we bring you along for the encounters and mischief that can often come with being a Turf Dog.   We hope you enjoy!   #dogsofturf  #blacklab  #whiskeywednesdays #kilmarlicgolfclub #obxgolf #golfcourselab #labsrule
